Unexpected Nightmares Pt.4 by ~Precious-Misery:iconPrecious-Misery:

Dinner

Kato expected that it would also be locked, but to her suprise, the door creaked open. She stepped into the new room, and lost her breath as she almost fell into a pit. She held onto the door handle and backed up against the wall. The floor ended only a few feet infront of her. Also new to her was the presence of an eerie red light. She looked up and saw a huge stained glass window, revealing a red sky behind it, and nothing else. An intricate design on the window was marked in five areas: the very top, on either side at the bottom, and on either side in the middle. In the center of the glass was a fresh red bloodstain, including cracks in the center of the mass of red.

Immediately in front of her, beyond the pit, was a table and six chairs sitting on a lone section of the same tiled floor. Kato put a hand to her mouth, as she could see there were five corpses in five of the six chairs. Two of them were full-sized adults, and sat closest to the window, two were child-sized, and sat next to the larger ones, and the one at the end of the table, in the singular chair, was a medium-sized corpse, about as big as a young adult. At the very head of the table, right before the stained glass, was an empty chair, and all of the corpses' heads stared vacantly at it. Kato looked away, as the sight of the mauled bloody bodies almost made her sick, and breathed slowly. What kind of place was this, and why, oh merciful god, why was it too familiar to be a dream?

She looked back up. On the table, in the center, something was glistening in the red light. She figured she could grab it if she hopped over the pit and to the table. Why did she want to grab it, especially with all of those corpses there? She didn't know. But it seemed that it must have some sort of importance. Kato moved over to the right side of the room, finding that the floor she was standing on went all around the edge. She focused on the gap inbetween two of the corpses where she could stand without falling, and jumped. Kato landed perfectly on the other side, or so she thought. She teetered at the edge, making her grab onto the edge of the table to hold on.

When she gained her footing, she looked closer at the table. Inbetween two silver candelabras was a large plate, and on that plate was some sort of disgusting, unrecognizable mass. On top of the mass was a small blue key, and etched on the grasp of the key was a pitchfork. Instantly, Kato realized that the key unlocked the one door she tried to open earlier. She grabbed at the key and pocketed it in her shirt's breast pocket. Kato looked down at her hand. It was covered with a thick red slime, too thick to be blood.

I am loving this.

I have successfully turned my own home into a living nightmare.

And now I am scaring myself.
